OUR ROOMS.

  • Atlantis

The Atlantis Room is a 4-5 year old room with the ratio of 1:10 and will facilitate up to 10 children pre day. Atlantis is lead by our Early Childhood Teacher, accompanied by support educators each day.

Structure of this nature is utterly invaluable in the name of provisions and provocations for students embarking on their transition to school. The small learning group size, translates to greater opportunities for quality interactions and plentiful one on one time between students and educators alike.

The learning context will reflect an emergent curriculum, catering for each of the students participating within the program. The context will reflect abundant ongoing opportunities that will address each of the key learning areas, as well as the chance to master learning outcomes from all areas of the Early Years

Learning Framework and with respect to the National Quality Standards.

Students will be formally and informally observed during the ongoing cycle of planning. Information derived from observations and learning stories, will be used to guide future goals and implications for future learning. We are always open to the input and participation from all families.

Learning experiences will reflect the interests and skill sets of students, and will be inclusive of the chance to explore activities that have been generated in a fashion that also reflects spontaneity, family input, intentional teaching and community connections.

As most of our students will be formally transitioning to Primary school the following year, provisions are made to honor and celebrate the child's independence and sense of autonomy. Partnerships with the local Primary schools have indicated the potential benefits that exist with specific competencies.

The learning context creates abundance in opportunities for all play styles and powerful, purposeful learning that is both deliberate and spontaneous. Our learners develop a thirst for learning and knowledge in the domains of culture, the arts, language, literature, physical education, healthy lifestyles, relationships and the vastness encapsulated within each of these. We encourage to seek information, explore and investigate while cultivating the educational tools that set them up for respective successes in the future.

  • Incredibles

The Incredibles Room is a 2–4-year-old room with the ratio of 1:5 and will facilitate up to 19 children per day. Within the 2-4 room there will be two groups which means two educational programs, (2-3years & 3-4years) this allows more opportunities to create, learn, and explore with the children.

Each groups educational programs will be displayed on the doors for all families to have a read and share their input. We always encourage parents to send through goals they have for their children which will allow our educators to program experiences to assist in achieving goals collaboratively.

The children’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive and language skills will be challenged within their daily routines and experiences implemented by educators. Parents receive monthly observations based on a goal created by their educator or parents, with a personal assessment and documentation of learning this is then followed by a further extension/follow up learning experience and the establishment of a new goal as appropriate.

  • Zootopia

The Zootopia Room is a 0-2 Room with the ratio of 1:4 and will facilitate up to 8 babies per day.

Nurturing the babies while establishing and maintaining trusting respectful relationships with the families and babies is a main priority within this room.

The Educators will support and encourage the babies allowing them to confidently explore and engage in their new environments as well as their social interactions. Guiding the babies in exploring different aspects of play the educators will construct an educational program to facilitate to their milestones and goals.

Our educators support the babies learning by using the approach of scaffolding learning. This is a teaching and learning technique which assists children to go from where they are to where they need to be in achieve their learning outcomes.

With the constant support and warm nurturing in the Zootopia room we ensure that daily routines inducing the individual routines of babies, are facilitated and supported through the different transitions in the day. Allowing them the accept challenges and express their wonders and interests.

Parents will also receive individual observations that will document their children’s learning processes and assessments.
